The making of Spring15 "The Traveller"

SS15 sketches.JPG

Skin and Threads 2015/16 summer is dedicated to the traveller, to the road less travelled and the knowledge that the destination is nothing without the journey.

Taking this lead, fabrics have a similar international lean; French linen and Japanese chambray make for easy, comfortable dressing that remains tailored. These fabrics are designed to evolve with the wearer and demonstrate the passing of time; they are the epitome of slow fashion.

Treated denim and printed soft silks continue the hazy, ‘memory of travel’ aesthetic. Distressed denim blues, sandy beige linens and off white shirtings are punctuated by screen prints on silk that hint at warm nights and evening plans.

Dropped waist dresses in gingham and paisley are equally comfortable in sneakers walking the streets as they are in heels for an impromptu night out. And a poppy club stripe in a shirt and shirt-dress is a go-to print reminiscent of sophisticated, cool drinks amongst palm trees and wicker furniture.

The Traveller is a collection of clothing designed to embrace the changing season and warmer climates with considered fabrics, refined simplicity and the cherished Skin and Threads’ nonchalant style.
